A aby toho nebylo málo, po cestě do Malče nás ještě čeká jedna krásná zastávka, kterou bude prohlídka pohádkovém zámku Žleby.

Joint concert of the American choir from Pennsylvania State University and the Czech mixed choir Lucky Voice Band
The men’s choir was founded in 1888 and is now in its 137th year. The choir has performed throughout the United States, including in prestigious venues such as David Geffen Hall (Lincoln Center) in New York City and Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, as well as overseas (from France and Iceland to Trinidad and Tobago and New Zealand). The choir is made up of undergraduate and graduate students from various academic disciplines at Pennsylvania State University. The choir is directed by Christopher Kiver, who is the recipient of numerous awards. In February 2006, for example, he was a two-time Grammy Award winner (for “Best Choral Performance” and “Best Classical Album”) as choral director of Naxos’ critically acclaimed recording of William Bolcom’s monumental Songs of Innocence and of Experience. Piano accompaniment will be provided by Jonah Glunt, who is music director and organist at University Baptist and Brethren Church in State College, Pennsylvania. He has already toured Portugal with the Glee Club in 2023.
The Prague Mixed Choir performs music of diverse cultures, styles, languages and emotions; including traditional music, but mostly in a more popular, modern guise. It is exceptional for the energy it can transfer to the audience during its performances and its ability to fill the entire hall with it. In his repertoire, he transforms the energy and emotion of individual pieces into harmonic tones, but also into movement so that the result tells a story and brings lightness and pleasure to the choir and the audience. Choirmaster Lucie Freiberg has studied music not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Australia and the USA. She has worked at the National Theatre in Prague and at the F. X. Šalda in Liberec, and it is under her direction that the LVB has won many awards at international competitions.
A selection from the programme:
Frederic Chopin – Etude in E minor, Op.25, no.5
Irish Folk Song – Danny Boy
W. A. Mozart – Priestly Chorus from The Magic Flute
spiritual – Come and go to that Land
Franz Biebl – Ave Maria
Byron J. Smith – Shout Glory
Admission is voluntary.
Voluntary admission will be donated to Cesta domů.
Cesta domů is operated by Home Hospice of the Capital Region. Prague. It provides counseling services to anyone in the Czech Republic in the care of the terminally ill and dying.
