A právě setkání tří nesmírně populárních, nadaných a skvělých osobností anglického divadla, jež ale zároveň byly neobyčejně sebestřednými a tvrdohlavými umělci, s jasnou touhou mít vždy nejen pravdu, ale hlavně si získat potlesk diváků, tvoří základ Huggettovy výborně napsané komedie, kterou uvádíme v české premiéře.

A concert by one of Germany's leading youth orchestras will offer an extraordinary evening of music, featuring Smetana's “The Moldau,” Dvořák's “From the New World,” and Luciano Berio's captivating “Folk Songs.”
For more than fifty years, the Landesjugendorchester Nordrhein-Westfalen has brought together approximately one hundred of the most talented young musicians from North Rhine-Westphalia, aged 14 to 21. The orchestra offers young performers the opportunity to study a challenging symphonic repertoire under the guidance of experienced professional musicians and conductors. It performs regularly in Germany and abroad and has been working closely with the WDR Symphony Orchestra since 2006. The orchestra also devotes itself to innovative concert projects that combine the classical repertoire with contemporary themes and new artistic forms.
The central theme of the program is “homesickness”—not only as a longing for a specific place, but also as a feeling that oscillates between roots and the present, between departure and return. Three compositions, each in a completely different way, explore how home and the longing for it might sound.
Program:
Bedřich Smetana | The Moldau
Luciano Berio | Folk Songs
Antonín Dvořák | Symphony No. 9 in E minor, “From the New World”
Performers:
Landesjugendorchester NRW – North Rhine-Westphalia State Youth Orchestra
Conductor: Sebastian Tewinkel
Mezzo-soprano: Anna Amanda Stolere

Andrey Boreyko | conductor
Still at the beginning of her international career, Alexandra Dovgan has already established herself as one of the most remarkable pianists of her generation. She makes her Prague Symphony Orchestra debut in Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto. In the second half of the programme, conductor Andrey Boreyko – renowned for his interpretations of Shostakovich – returns to PSO with the composer’s deeply personal Fifteenth Symphony. An unexpected quotation from Rossini’s William Tell Overture creates a fascinating musical link between the opening and closing works of the evening.

Pražští symfonikové
Andrej Borejko | dirigent
